Oral Care Training Needs Survey - National Oral Health Office
0%

This survey is part of a project by the National Oral Care Support Guideline Education Group supported by the HSE. This survey is for all health care workers who support and provide oral care for persons in the course of their work.

Existing oral health care practices in healthcare are variable at best, with many nursing and care staff reporting that they require training in oral hygiene practices (Waldron et al, 2019). The purpose of this survey is to identify current practice and potential gaps that exist in relation to oral care currently being provided in health care settings or a person’s home.  Oral care knowledge and skills are needed for all persons, family members, nurses, health and social care workers who provide or support oral care as part of general care for dependent people. This oral care support could be provided in HSE settings such as hospitals, residential centres, Section 38, Section 39 facilities and homes for older people and people with an intellectual disability.

Thank you for taking the time to complete this training needs survey.  Your input will help us identify education and training needs of health care workers in Ireland regarding the assessment and management of oral care. The knowledge gained from this survey will enable the HSE to develop an evidence based programme that supports standardized training in oral care. Please answer the following questions based on your current knowledge and experience.

The questionnaire will probably take less than 10 minutes to complete.

All questions need to be answered before you can move to the next section. You can move back and forth between the pages by clicking on the "next" and "previous" buttons.
